A BSA Improved Model D ‘Junior’ or ‘Boys Model’ .177 Calibre Air Rifle.
Serial number 26354 which dates its manufacture by BSA in Birmingham to Circa 1908 -1909.
This is a rare example of this youths model Air Rifle.
The rifle is 38 1/2″ long with a 17″ barrel, 71/2″ air chamber and fitted with a 13 1/4″ straight hand stock. The cocking lever is stamped “Lincoln Jeffries Patent 8761/04 and the tap marked P.Pat 8246/06. The top of the chamber is stamped ‘The BSA Air Rifle (Improved Model D) The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited Sole Manufacturers. The hand chequered stock is fitted with a metal butt plate.
This rifle is in very good original condition the blueing has worn over time to a smooth Grey/Brown patina. The stock has no splits or cracks and has the BSA Piled Arms trade mark stamped to the left side. The original correct open sights are fitted are functioning the foresight is undamaged.
Overall this is a very good example of this rifle in original unmolested condition and in full working order.
A great addition to any collection of Pre WW1 British Manufactured Air Rifles.
