A Webley Mark II Service Air Rifle in .22 calibre.
This rifle is a ‘1st’ Series Model with serial S330 the serial number on the barrel is also S330 and dates this particular rifles manufacture to circa 1932 -1934.
Only approximately 1000 of these 1st series rifles were made making this a scarce example.
It has the ‘spring-clip’ barrel release and is fitted with a safety catch both of which were modified on later models.
It is in excellent original condition and retains most of its bluing with only minor wear and marks to the finish mainly where it has been subject to the most handling.
The stamping’s are all sharp and legible.
It is complete with its rear post aperture sight, twin flip-up leaf centre sight and front sight all of which function correctly.
The stock is in very good order featuring a pleasing grain.
There is a minor historical split to the stock to the left side where it joins the action.
The horn butt pad is complete and undamaged.
It cocks and fires with no issues.
It comes with a very well made modern reproduction cardboard box which compliments the rifle and is a good copy of the boxes supplied with these rifles by ‘Webley’ when new.
Included is a modern reproduction F E Morton booklet ‘Hints on Air Rifle Shooting’ a Pre War ‘Weaman Street’ Webley Special Pellets tin for .22 Calibre Pellets, a reproduction hang tag, and leaflet.
A excellent example of this iconic pre war Webley Air Rifle.
